True Love
Today my heart is broken. Sometime in the night my dear Jon passed from this life and into the next.
It was not unexpected, and yet shocking. I never would have thought that I'd wake without him.
Knowing Jon means that I have known true love. I have known love that is patient and kind. I have known love that does not envy and is not boastful. I have known love that beareth all things, believeth all things, and hopeth all things. I have known love that endureth all things.
Knowing Jon means I have known true love. Knowing the gospel of Jesus Christ means I know that I will feel that love from Jon again some day. Today my heart is broken, but I know that, in time, it will heal.

My heart goes out to your family. I worked with Jon at HCMC and he truly lit up a room with his smile. You're all in my thoughts & prayers. I feel so lucky to have known Jon!!! He made so many people smile! Rest peacefully, Jon!
ReplyDeleteAnne,
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry to you and your family for your loss. This is heartbreaking to read and see on Facebook. My thoughts are with you and your family during this difficult time.
Anne,
ReplyDeleteYou don't know me, but I served a mission with Jeff, Jon's brother. I am so sorry you have lost your husband. I was inspired by your post. "Each life that touches ours for good reflects thine own dear Mercy, Lord." I was reminded of those beautiful words. May the peace that passes all understanding be felt by you and your family at this time. We will pray for you all.

Anne,
ReplyDeleteAs I sit here, I can only feebly second your wonderful observations as to John's love for others. Whenever the name Jon Neu crosses my mind, I see his beaming smile, and hear his cheerful voice and feel his heartfelt handshakes and hugs. No matter what else is happening at the time, for that brief moment, a smile crosses my lips, and my heart feels a special warmth just for having known him. He truly blessed my life and lifted me. I will miss him, but I rejoice in his cheerful 'endurance to the end'. He was truly an example of our Savior's love unfit his turn on earth was through, and I rejoice that if I can endure half as well, that once again I will see that smile, hear that voice and feel that hug. I do so look forward to that fine day.
My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your loved ones, who are not so small anymore! I pray for that special comforter to bless you all at this time of separation. I know He will be with you, because He loves you and now Jon (the other 'he') is free to move and do all the things that were forbidden or filled with so much pain in these last days. I rejoice in the Gospel of Jesus Christ and His marvelous atonement that makes all these things possible. All praise and honor to His glorious Father and His love, Amen.
My heart is hurting for you. Prayers and love to you all.
ReplyDeleteHolding you and your children in my heart and prayers today, Anne. Blessings on his sweet spirit, and on your journey as you learn to live without his physical presence in your life. He will always be with you...

Anne, I'm so sorry. You and your husband were such an awe-inspiring example of love!
ReplyDeleteYou are amazing, Anne, and have amazing children. I am so glad to have met you all and be able to see the light of Christ that danced in Jon's eyes at Chris and Melodee's wedding. Thank you and Jon for sharing your love and life on this blog with us. It has brought many a tear to my eye, not of sadness, but of the joy of the journey. May God Bless your family at this time, He has already blessed Jon. <3
